letters for local press urging NHS to stop plan to allow building on King George

I am encouraging local Councillors and activists to sign a letter to go to Recorder and Wanstead and Woodford Guardian for publication this week to ask the NHS to withdraw their plan to allow housing on "surplus" land on the King George site. The letters are as follows For the Recorder: Dear Sir or Madam The 2010 NHS plan for closing King George A&E has a number of stages until the final closure. Some of these stages have already taken place at King George, such as closing some beds designed for emergency admissions and replacing them with rehabilitation beds. Good week for building support for campaign to extend King George rather than allow housing on site

On Thursday night it was good to get Socialist party support for the campaign. Yesterday, it was also encouraging to have Redbridge Trades Council support for the motion below. I would be delighted to speak about the campaign at union branches, political party branches and resident associations in East London. Be great to have a good turn out on 21st June at 6:30pm outside Ilford Town Hall when the petition at the end of this post is passed ‘Redbridge Trades Council notes a petition on Change org written by Andy Walker which has over 2600 signatures which reads as follows: ... Not a great start: but will keep going on campaign to extend KGH

I sent the below to Councillors  in NE London. It did not work out, but I will keep going. Dear Councillors in Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge & Waltham Forest I write regarding the following: 1 - Why the Decision of Redbridge Council to decide to allow housing on so called “surplus land” on the King George Hospital site should concern all Councillors in North East London. The documents referenced below point to the plan to close King George A&E from 2010 as the rationale for the decision to build housing on "surplus" land.
